The Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS Course) has been designed to meet the needs of site supervisors within the construction industry. Being a supervisor on a construction site is an extremely important responsibility, so it is vital that those in such a position have the necessary knowledge to ensure that others are working safely on site.

Those who have, or about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities on a construction site.

Site supervisor safety training scheme (SSSTS course) content

This course aims to highlight the need for risk assessment in the workplace, implementation of the necessary control measures and adequate communication and monitoring; in order to provide and maintain positive standards of health, safety and welfare on a construction site.

The main topics covered include:

  • Construction accidents
  • Health and Safety legal system
  • Acts, Regulations, Approved Codes of Practice and Guidance Notes
  • Risk Assessments in areas such as working at height, demolition, noise, occupational health, fire, control of contractors, electricity and confined spaces

2 days

Assessment and certification

Assessment is in the form of a 30 minute, 25 question, objective multiple choice examination at the end of the course.

Successful candidates will be awarded the Site Safety Plus CITB Site Supervisory Training Certificate.
