The Standard criminal background record check contains details of all convictions held on the Police National Computer. This includes current and ‘spent’ convictions as well as details of any cautions, reprimands or final warnings.
It’s important to remember that a prior criminal record does not predict future criminal intent, though in many cases it’s sensible to know if staff and recruits have not disclosed a previous conviction.
